Early Childhood Australia (ECA) has been a voice for young children since 1938. They are the peak early childhood advocacy organisation, acting in the interests of young children, their families and those in the early childhood field. ECA advocates to ensure quality, social justice and equity in all issues relating to the education and care of children aged birth to eight years
Created by a partnership of member organisations of Australia’s leading early childhood agencies, the Raising Children website is produced with the help of an extensive network including the Australian Government. Its aim is to provide information that can help parents with the day-to-day decisions of raising children, and to also help parents and carers look after their own needs.
The mychild.gov.au website is Australia’s online child care portal. On this website you will find information on different types of child care and how to get assistance with the cost of child care. You can also search a database to find child care centres in your local area. In many cases, you will also be able to find the services’ vacancy and fee information.
This site also has information and links to other useful websites about children’s health and wellbeing, parenting and family support services.
Parent Line is a 24 hour helpline that provides counselling and support for parents, as well as general parenting advice and information.
Parent Line can also put you in touch with other services in your local area for ongoing support, or for other issues such as legal advice.
